Our vegan production
Madame Pivot's choice of introducing vegan versions of their tango shoes in the production line goes back to 2016 and was the result of a long debate on the urgency to give voice to various needs within the company: from the personal sensitivity of some staff members supporting ethical consumption and concerned on the impact of the processing of natural versus synthetic leather on the environment, to the requests of many vegan customers looking for a 100% animal free shoe production.
The production of two parallel lines allowed us to meet everyone's needs, therefore we would like to provide more information about the materials used for the manufacture.
We would like to assure our customers that our vegan shoes are 100% ANIMAL FREE in any of their components, and this comes from an accurate check of the entire production line from source to end. The materials we use are mainly fabrics (laminated or glittered, plain satin, grosgrain, lamé and lace) but also vinyl and synthetic patent leather. All linings are also covered in fabrics and the insoles are in faux leather. Soles are made of TUNIT, a rubber based material mixed with synthetic leather fibres which is very flexible, resistant, durable and slightly slippery, therefore suitable to any kind of dance floor.
